The bitter cold, snow, and ice storms did not deter several hundred people from honoring the lives of veterans whose final resting place is one of the four Kansas state cemeteries.
While the crowds were a bit smaller than in previous years, the outpouring of generosity and volunteerism was astounding for Wreaths Across America held on Saturday December 17th, 2016. By the end of the memorial service, every gravesite was adorned with a wreath placed by a family member, Legion Rider, Boy Scout, community member, or cemetery worker. Wreaths are purchased through generous donations from Veteran Service Organizations, families and community, through the national Wreaths Across America organization. Wreaths Across America ceremonies are held annually on a Saturday in December.
